Situated atop the Rippon hill, the hall and its surrounding outdoor spaces offer two locations for outdoor weddings.

The natural amphitheatre, offering views out over the vines to Lake Wanaka and the Southern Alps, lies adjacent to The Rippon Hall and is our most popular spot for wedding ceremonies.

Closer to the lake and nestled among the vines, we have the nursery site, one of the most sheltered spots on the property. Some couples choose to exchange vows down in this more private area and then continue the celebration up on the hill in The Rippon Hall.


The main hall is the ideal location for small to mid-sized receptions with capacity to seat 80-90 guests comfortably, a striking wet weather option for an indoor ceremony and makes for the perfect dance floor when it comes times to kick the heels off and party the night away. The picture window at the lake end of the hall offers year-round views while the large open fireplace keeps the room cosy even on the coldest of winter days.

The fixed canopy, adjacent to the main hall and connected by two sets of tri-fold doors is included in the venue hire, and can accommodate up to 230 guests for a seated dinner. With licensing for 375 guests, our hire packages include the space in its entirety, so you’ll have ultimate flexibly with guest numbers and wet-weather options.

The Rippon Hall is a dry hire venue providing a perfectly blank canvas to design. We will connect you to a group of amazing local suppliers who can help bring your vision to life. All packages include professional cleaning before and after your wedding and a dedicated Rippon staff member for the duration of your hire to ensure the smooth running of the venue in all respects.



Plenty of time for set-up and rehearsal for those that don’t want to rush the process.

With our two-day hire package, access to The Rippon Hall begins the day before your wedding at 10:00 am until 5:00 pm and affords the ultimate peace of mind that your wedding day will go exactly as planned.

A Rippon team member will be there on the day to run through all the final preparations and help out with any queries that may arise. On the day of your wedding, The Rippon Hall will be available to you from 9:30 am and will be yours right through to last call at 12:30 am. We will make sure your day runs smoothly, working alongside our selected and trustworthy suppliers on every aspect of your wedding.



It may be that one day is all you need to get everything in place for your celebrations. With access beginning at 9:30 am on the day, our skilled supplier partners will ensure that set-up and pack down are completed according to your brief, whilst maintaining top level service.

The One Day Wedding option offers greater flexibility when securing a date, especially during the busiest periods of the wedding season.



Our ceremony-only package offers access to The Rippon Hall and available outdoor spaces for an unlimited number of guests for a six-hour window (to include set-up and pack-down), with use of the catering kitchen for post-ceremony drinks and canapes (to be supplied by one of our preferred caterers), and time to take some photographs on property.

Please note we don’t book ceremony-only packages more than six months in advance; however, we are happy to place a pencil hold on your preferred date.



The Rippon Hall is the perfect spot for a quiet, intimate elopement whether outside overlooking the vines or inside in front of the roaring fire.

Our elopement and photography package includes two hours on the property for up to ten guests but no access to the catering kitchen (so no ability to serve food or drinks post-ceremony).

As with the ceremony-only package, please note we don’t confirm elopement and photography bookings more than six months in advance. We are, however, happy to place a pencil hold on your preferred date.



Rippon wines are proudly served at all weddings at The Rippon Hall. Rippon is one of Central Otago’s pioneering vineyards and the region has a worldwide reputation for its Pinot Noir. In the lead up to your wedding, we invite you to join us for a private tasting for up to ten guests to decide which of our wines you’d like to serve on your special day. All wedding couples will also receive a 10% discount on wines served on the day.

As a fully licenced venue, all other beverages are to be purchased through Rippon on a consumption basis. We happily stock a number of locally made sparkling wines, craft beers, and fresh juices and will work with you to build a beverage menu to suit your group.

The Rippon Hall does not offer in-house catering, but we do require that our couples select one of our preferred catering teams who have been hand-selected based on their experience and professionalism.
